About Maggi Mee Goreng Recipe

Maggi is a brick of instant noodles that you crack in half over boiling water, then cook with a flavoured powder that looks like straight-up turmeric and tastes like 2,000 per cent of your daily recommended sodium intake.

Maggi products were first invented within the mid-19th century in Switzerland (of all places) by a man called Julius Maggi. According to Maggi’s true record of its corporate history.  “In 1863, Maggi made a recipe of flavours to carry added taste to meals.

Maggi mee Goreng, or more commonly referred to as Maggi Goreng, which suggests frying instant noodles, is widely available at Mamak (Indian Muslim) food stalls around Malaysia.

Why is named Maggi Goreng?

No other brand but a selected and particular brand, Maggi. This is because Maggi brand instant noodles are wont to make this dish. Besides, some also use other Maggi brand chilli and tomato sauce as the seasonings to these noodles.

Traditionally, Maggi noodles are cooked in the form of soup noodles rather than stir-frying them. However, the Mamak food slows down changed it into heavenly pan-fried food noodles that are adored by numerous Malaysians as of not long ago.  These noodles are available at any time, be it breakfast, lunch, dinner, afternoon tea or supper at any Mamak stalls. Ingredients for Maggi Mee Goreng Recipe

  • 180 g – Maggi 2-minute noodles
  • 2 small – chicken legs, cubed
  • 1 – Shallot chopped and fried until crisp and light brown.
  • 3 – Garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1 cup – Bean sprouts
  • 4 – fresh chillies bell peppers, padi (small chillies)
  • 3 -4 tablespoons – Oil

Sauce:-

  • 3 tablespoons – ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon – dark soya sauce
  • 1 tablespoon – oyster sauce
  • 2 -3 tablespoons – chilly paste,
  • 1 teaspoon – sesame oil

Preparation for Maggi Mee Goreng Recipe

  • Marinate the chicken cubes with vegetable oil for about 10 minutes.
  • Mix sauce ingredients in a small bowl.
  • Cook the moment noodles in boiling water for about 3 minutes and drain and rinse with cold water.
  • Stir fry the chicken cubes until cooked.
  • In a separate pan, fry the garlic in oil until fragrant.
  • Add cooked noodles, followed by cooked chicken.
  • Stir fry for about 2 minutes.
  • Add beansprouts to the pan.
  • Add sauce ingredients to the pan and continue to stir fry on medium to low heat for about 5 minutes.
  • Mix sauce well into the noodles.
  • Serve with fried shallot and chilly garnish.

Is Maggi Goreng Healthy?

There is nothing of the sort as a solid Maggi Goreng.

Why is Maggi Goreng Red?

The yellow noodles are from the Chinese. The lamb and flavours from the Indians. It has a Malay name and the splendid red shading originates from the Tomato sauce which we have the British to thank for.
